The governing body that oversees the sport in Wales is the Welsh Korfball Association, which was founded back in 2002 and the organization organizes the WNKL, short for Welsh National Korfball League.

Some consider cricket to be the most popular sport in Cardiff, and this sport has been played in the city since the early 1900s. The first cricket club formed in the city was Cardiff Cricket Club, and they have been around since 1819. Cricket quickly grew in popularity and by 1885 the city had over 60 cricket teams.
